Itella for the Baltic Sea – "Itella Blue" Communication Program

In the Baltic Sea Action Group (BSAG), Itella Corporation’s commitment is to utilize Itella´s professional communication channels and resources to strengthen the important Baltic Sea Action Programs’ key messages for Clean Sea in 15 European countries around the Baltic Sea.
Itella has operated since 1638 around the Baltic Sea. During these nearly 400 years, Itella has focused on delivering important messages to people, corporations and different business and public communities. This is the case also today; this decade messages are delivered through both digital and physical communication. Therefore it is natural that Itella will commit its communication channels and resources in 15 different countries around the Baltic Sea to enhance the Clean Sea messages and to increase the awareness on this important initiative in 2010 – 2011. The coverage of Itella communication channels is 2.3 million Finnish households, 20 000 Itella employees in Finland and thousands of corporation operating in Europe.
Itella has also announced an environmental target of reducing CO₂ emissions by 30 per cent by 2020 through Itella Green.
The implementation of ‘Itella Blue Communication’ project in 2010 -2011 includes utilizing Itella´s main communication channels to reach:
- All 2.3 million Finnish households through consumer magazine and website (annually roughly 5 million visitors),
- Itella employees (around 30 000)
- Thousands of Corporations and Public parties in 15 countries in Northern Europe and in Russia.
The goal of this project is to build awareness, great spirit and passion for Clean Sea by bringing up important concrete results, progress from different angles with the attitude everybody can join across different countries and cultures.
Potential new areas will be added to’ Itella Blue Communication’ during the process. Through these actions we wish to serve the overall goal of BSAG.
