Donations to the Baltic Sea

The Foundation for a Living Baltic is the driving force behind the work of the Baltic Sea Action Group. The foundation accepts donations and the board of the foundation allocates the funds to different programs aimed at saving the Baltic Sea. Companies as well as private persons have donated funds, services and other products that we have used in our work on for the Baltic Sea.

Companies and donating

Private persons and donating

Also private persons can now participate in the Baltic Sea work by donating any chosen sum. Baltic Sea Action Group was given a permit by Finnish Police authorities for collecting funds from the public in all of Finland except Åland 1.11.2011-31.10.2012.

Donations will be directed to Baltic Sea Action Groups work related to eutrophication, maritime risks and emissions, threats imposed by hazardous substances as well as threats to biodiversity. These are the main problem areas of the Baltic Sea as defined by HELCOM (Helsinki Commission for protecting the Baltic Sea).

In spring 2012 it will also become possible to donate monthly through our direct debit programme or make an online donation through our website. Currently it is possible to make a donation straight to our bank account.

Permit for collecting the funds given by Finnish Police 17.10.2011. Number of the permit is 2020/2011/3013, and it is valid 1.11.2011-31.10.2012 in all of Finland except Åland.

Special occasion donations to the Baltic Sea

Many have contacted us about the possibility to direct their monetary gifts on special occasions to us and take part in helping the Baltic Sea.

The person having the special occasion or his/her representative informs BSAG:

• Who is the person celebrated and the date of the special occasion
• Will the person want to be given a certificate where the names of the donors and/or the total amount of donations are stated?
• If yes, who will act as a liaison and what is the contact information of this person?

*If needed, the BSAG can disclose the amount donated just before the special occasion. According to our experience donations will be made after the special day which means that the donated amount can rise even after months. If a certificate is welcome where the name of the donor and the total amount of donations are stated, we will deliver the certificate after the special occasion as agreed.
