Christmas campaign brought over 100 000 euros for the Baltic Sea

Baltic Sea Action Group’s Christmas campaign 2013 “Throw your Christmas gifts into the Baltic Sea” brought over 100 000 euros for the foundation’s Baltic Sea work.
About one hundred companies decided to support BSAG’s Baltic Sea work by making a Christmas donation. By donating, the companies can implement corporate responsibility and at the same time remember their clients and partners during the Christmas season.
“The overall sum remained a bit behind last year’s record result but we are extremely content with the fact that about the same amount of companies wanted to participate in the campaign” says Mathias Bergman, BSAG’s Secretary General.
“Another reason to be happy is that a number of companies repeated their donation by again throwing their Christmas gifts into the Baltic Sea and supported BSAG’s work for an ecologically balanced Baltic Sea”, Bergman continues.
The collected funds are used to reduce eutrophication, minimize discharges of hazardous substances into the Baltic Sea and to contribute to safe and clean maritime activities.
“We sincerely want to thank all the companies that participated in the campaign and for their support for our work”, Mathias Bergman concludes.
