Eija Hagelberg nominated to the steering group of the Finnish National Rural Network.

Järki-project’s project manager Eija Hagelberg from Baltic Sea Action Group has been appointed as a member to the Finnish National Rural Network steering group and as a chairperson to its Climate and Environmental working group.

– The task is very interesting. I see great potential to have effect in the important issues on the development of the countryside says Hagelberg.
T​he name of the Rural Network stands for wide cooperation between organizations, civil society and authorities in order to develop the Finnish countryside.
Steering group is responsible for steering activities and alignments of the network. It approves network’s action plan, financial program and sets necessary working groups.
Network’s function is to convey information of the development opportunities for the potential beneficiaries.
Steering group’s chairperson is Taina Vesanto from the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, vice-chair is Esko Leinonen from the Agency for Rural Affairs. Members in the group are Marianne Selkäinaho (Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry), Jyrki Pitkänen (ELY-Centre), Antero Lehikoinen (Joensuu area Leader ry), Jarkko Huovinen (Association of Finnish Local and Regional Authorities), Christell Åström (Rural Policy Committee) and the chairpersons for the  working groups are Eija Hagelberg (BSAG), Hilkka Vihinen (MTT Agrifood Research Finland), Heidi Siivonen (local 4H of Hämeenlinna) and Hannu Uusihonko (Foodpark Ltd).
