New Commitments offer refining of waste oils discharged at Finnish ports

By the end of this year two Finnish-based companies EcoStream and Kiitosimeon start offering a service to ship owners and port authorities that allow refining of waste oils, separately stored in vessel’s tanks and discharged at port. The waste oil will be used as raw-material for base oil production.

This joint Commitment provides a significant improvement in the current situation, in which waste oil stored separately in vessel’s tanks is mixed with bilge water during transportation and handling.

The service aims to utilize all waste oil available from the vessels.
