Paperless Taxation Process / Environmental Friendly Taxation Services

Organisation: Verohallinto

Time: 8/26/2009 – 8/26/2013

Description:

Finnish Tax Administration will search for opportunities to use knowhow and special IT knowledge to improve working practices and taxation services for benefit of the well being of the environment and especially the Baltic Sea.

The Finnish Tax Administration has in August 2008 started a project called “Paperless Process” in order to minimize the use of printed-out documents throughout the whole taxation process from tax legislation work to tax services. In 2008 more than 340 000 taxpayers used the option to order a new tax-withholding card through Internet – thereby reducing the exhaust emissions related to taxpayers’ travelling to tax office. The Finnish Tax Administration is also reviewing the internal practises and office routines as well as the contact channels to our service providers and other contact groups.

Special emphasis is therefore put on environmental issues and thus also the well being of the Baltic Sea.

Objective of the Commitment:
Permanent
