Baltic Sea Action Programme

Organisation: Suomen Luonnonsuojeluliitto

Time: 2/6/2010 – 5/1/2020

Description:

The Finnish Association for Nature Conservation will prepare a national action programme on the Baltic Sea. The programme will be approved and published by the end of April 2010 at the latest. It will provide a roadmap on how to improve the ecological state of the Baltic Sea. The programme will be directed to all Finns, as our activities and behavior have a direct impact on eutrophication. The programme will consist of concrete legislative, agricultural, industrial and communal initiatives to strengthen the conservation of inland waters and the Baltic Sea.

The objective is to reduce the level of nitrogen and phosphorus nutrients ending up in the Baltic Sea.
