KONEYRITTÄJÄT RY’S COMMITMENT
Koneyrittäjät ry promotes water protection measures in heavy machinery sectors as part of its Baltic Sea Commitment. During the commitment period, the association implements practices for professionals based on scientific research and the experience of practitioners. Koneyrittäjät ry also encourages other stakeholders to join in the Baltic Sea work.

Improving the condition of the Baltic Sea requires broad collaboration. Researchers, landowners, machine contractors, industry, authorities, politicians, and NGOs all need to be involved. Koneyrittäjät ry signs the Baltic Sea Commitment with Baltic Sea Action Group (BSAG) because the organization aims to advance responsible development in the sector and inspire others to participate in the Baltic Sea work.
Success requires collaboration. The greatest impact is achieved when the entire supply chain is committed to reducing impacts on water bodies, and operations are planned accordingly.

Koneyrittäjät ry is committed, through its sustainability program, to promoting water protection in forests, fields, mires, and built environments. The organization participates in developing science-based best practices and promotes their broad adoption within the energy, earth moving and construction as well as forestry sectors. Collaboration with BSAG supports these goals.

Koneyrittäjät ry’s members strengthen their water expertise through training and communications provided by the association. Koneyrittäjät ry supports BSAG’s projects, such as KOPPI and Kopista Oppia, and communicates their results to its members.

Koneyrittäjät ry encourages its partners to participate in developing water protection measures and to create their own Baltic Sea Commitments.

Water protection and biodiversity are prioritized in advocacy
Koneyrittäjät ry highlights in its advocacy the restoration of streams, wetlands, and mires; stormwater management; maintenance of water supply systems; and water protection solutions in forestry and construction. The organization emphasizes the importance of these topics to decision-makers and authorities and contributes to public discussion. Koneyrittäjät ry communicates about water protection and biodiversity both independently and in collaboration with BSAG.
