Advancing regenerative agriculture on the all-important grassroots level
Baltic Sea Action Group’s JÄRKI project has been working actively to promote sustainable agriculture since 2009. In 2019 Louise and Göran Ehrnrooth Foundation and the Sophie von Julinin’s Foundation granted the third 5-year funding for JÄRKI and the collaboration with carbon farmers. With this funding, BSAG is able to continue with the aim of making it easier – and common sense – for farmers to implement environmental measures in their daily work.
JÄRKI project implements BSAG’s holistic approach to sustainable and regenerative agriculture. Part of this work is the collaboration, co-design, and training with the 100 carbon farmers on the Carbon Action platform. The network includes also other farmers interested in regenerative agriculture.
In addition, the project produces new communication materials on sustainable soil management and organizes training and field days. Collaboration with advisors, researchers, agricultural institutions, and decision-makers continues. Novel innovations and models from international carbon farming networks will also be brought to Finnish stakeholders.
