Katri Kaartovuori

Katri Kaartovuori works in BSAG’s forestry team as a Project Manager. The main goal is to reduce the water impacts of forestry.
Katri has worked in various forestry organizations for several years. Along the way, she has gained experience as a forest advisor, forest specialist, and forest operations expert. In other words, Katri knows forests inside out from many different perspectives. At BSAG, their responsibilities include coordinating forestry projects, working closely with forest sector stakeholders, researchers, and landowners, and assisting with forestry-related communications.
This diverse experience in the field is a major asset when the goal is to tackle the water impacts of forestry and get the whole sector moving toward a shared goal – with a solution-oriented mindset, of course.
“The state of the Baltic Sea – and especially the beloved Archipelago Sea – has been worrying me for years. The annual blue-green algae chaos is a sad sight, summer after summer. We have to remember that we only have one sea – so why not take care of it? Especially in the forestry sector, there’s still a lot of work to be done. But with cooperation, we can turn plans into action. Everyone has a role to play!”
Katri holds a degree in Forest Engineering and is currently continuing her studies with the goal of graduating as a Master’s Degree (forestry) in 2026.
Katri is a native of Southwest Finland and fiercely holds on to this title. In her free time, you’re most likely to find her on horseback, on the golf course, or at a riding competition. Time management isn’t an issue – it all will be managed!
