Yes. Our payment service provider, Paytrail, automatically issues a receipt for every donation. We can also provide an extended receipt suitable for accounting purposes upon request. 

Yes. Your company can donate either by requesting an invoice or by donating directly through online banking. 

Yes. Under Section 57 of the Finnish Income Tax Act, corporate donations to BSAG between €850 and €50,000 are tax deductible. 

A healthy Baltic Sea is essential for people, nature and the economy. Businesses depend, directly or indirectly, on clean water, healthy marine ecosystems and biodiversity. 

The state of the Baltic Sea is also a shared concern for many people in Finland, and there is growing public expectation for companies to take meaningful environmental action. Supporting BSAG is a practical way to demonstrate corporate responsibility and show your company’s commitment to protecting our shared environment.

Your company is free to choose the donation amount that best suits its circumstances. 

Under Section 57 of the Finnish Income Tax Act, corporate donations of €850–€50,000 to BSAG are tax deductible.

The Baltic Sea Commitment is a long-term partnership model for companies and organisations that are committed to developing their own operations for the benefit of the Baltic Sea. It is particularly suited to businesses whose value chains have a significant impact on the Baltic Sea, for example through agriculture and food systems, maritime transport or forestry. 

Every Baltic Sea Commitment includes a corporate donation, the amount of which is agreed individually. If you are interested in exploring a Baltic Sea Commitment, our experts would be happy to discuss the opportunity with you. 

Sharing your donation through your company’s own channels is an excellent way to highlight your company’s values and sustainability commitments. After making a donation, you’ll receive a communications toolkit with Baltic Sea-themed images and other ready-to-use materials for social media, your website and other communications.    

For significant donations, we will also seek opportunities to feature the partnership in our own communications together with the donor company.

We have advanced more sustainable environmental practices in shipping, and our advocacy contributed to legislative changes that banned cargo ships from discharging wastewater into the sea within Finland’s territorial waters. We have also pioneered regenerative agriculture in Finland, protected more than 5,000 hectares of valuable marine habitats, and developed solutions that reduce the impacts of forestry on water systems.
