Bang & Bonsomer encourages companies to give a Christmas gift to the Baltic Sea

News Corporate Collaboration

The materials technology company Bang & Bonsomer Group has made a significant donation to the Baltic Sea Action to support its work for the benefit of the Baltic Sea. Through its own Christmas campaign, the company also encourages its partners and stakeholders to make donations to help protect the sea.

Bang & Bonsomer Group has a long-standing tradition of making an annual Christmas donation to a good cause. For the second consecutive year, the company’s donation raises awareness of the Baltic Sea and efforts to protect it.

“Responsibility, environmental awareness, and the minimization of environmental impacts are now a key part of everyone’s work. We want to emphasize their importance to both our employees and our stakeholders,” says Mikko Teittinen, CEO of Bang & Bonsomer Group.

This year, Bang & Bonsomer is spreading the good further. Alongside its own donation, the company is challenging its partners to join in supporting BSAG’s work for the Baltic Sea.

The Baltic Sea connects us

A quarter of the Baltic Sea consists of dead, oxygen-depleted seabed. Three quarters of our sea is still full of life, color, and biodiversity. Saving the Baltic Sea requires broad collaboration. Companies can support this vital work through their donations and by making a Baltic Sea Commitment.

Bang & Bonsomer is a materials technology company that supplies chemicals, raw materials, and additives to various industries. The company operates throughout the Nordic countries, the Baltic states, and Poland. The sea is also important on a personal level.

“Many of our employees have personal experiences of the Baltic Sea’s deteriorating condition, which makes helping feel both tangible and meaningful. We are impressed by BSAG’s work. Together we created a campaign that’s more than just a donation,” Teittinen adds.

The Baltic Sea is one of the most polluted seas in the world.

The Baltic Sea is surrounded by a large and densely populated catchment area, which exposes the sea to many environmental challenges. Due to eutrophication, climate change, and various human pressures, the Baltic Sea’s unique ecosystem is under threat.

Spreading awareness of the Baltic Sea

Bang & Bonsomer’s Christmas campaign includes digital greetings, edible gifts, and other seasonal communications. The holiday messages to stakeholders share facts about the state of the Baltic Sea and highlight the need for its protection. The goal is to raise awareness and inspire other companies to take action. The message of hope is clear: a healthy Baltic Sea is within reach.

“We have put a lot of thought and planning into the campaign. We want it to be positive and bring joy, even though the issue itself is serious,” Teittinen says.

Mikko Teittinen hopes Bang & Bonsomer’s example will encourage other companies to do good as well:

“The third sector does wonderful and valuable work, but truly impactful efforts often require significant funding. Donations from companies and individuals make up an important part of that funding. We hope that as many companies as possible will be inspired to donate for the good of the Baltic Sea, now and in the future.”
