BSAG and Valio’s partnership is part of a broader effort supporting Valio’s ambitious climate programme. At the heart of the programme are efforts to reduce emissions from dairy production, starting at the grassroots level with regenerative farming practices that build and retain carbon in the soil.
Collaboration in a seashell
BSAG and Valio work together particularly through research and development projects that strengthen soil health, carbon sequestration and biodiversity on dairy farms. Over the years, the partnership has resulted in initiatives such as carbon farming training for Valio’s dairy farmers, helping them learn new ways to sequester carbon in the soil while sharing good farming practices already in use on their farms. Valio has also been one of the key supporters of the development and launch of the open-access online school for regenerative farming. Valio is part of the Carbon Action platform, where ambitious scientific research goes hand in hand with practical action in the field.

About the partner company
